More Than Just Filters
While one-click filters like "Vintage" or "Sepia" are fun, true power comes from understanding the basic adjustments.
Brightness vs. Exposure
Brightness lightens the whole image equally. Exposure targets the highlights more aggressively. Use brightness for a subtle lift.
Contrast
Contrast is the difference between the darkest and lightest parts of an image. Increasing contrast makes shadows darker and highlights brighter, adding "pop" to the photo.
Saturation
Saturation controls the intensity of colors.
- Low Saturation: Muted, serious look.
- High Saturation: Vibrant, energetic look.
Using Onyx for Color Correction
In the Onyx Editor, navigate to the Filters tab. You'll find sliders for all these properties. Start by adjusting Brightness, then tweak Contrast, and finally set the Saturation to taste.
